Ignore Cardinal Donald Wuerl

As noted here:

WASHINGTON — The District’s top Catholic leader has weighed in on the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage.

The law of the land is the law of the land,” says Archbishop of Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl. “We certainly follow what the law says. That doesn’t mean we change the word of God. That doesn’t mean we change the scriptures, or the church’s millennia-long tradition of what marriage is.”

Sodomy is the law of the land?  Sure it is, and I play spin the bottle with Carmen Electra every Friday evening.

And now....sanity.

The doctrine on the necessary conformity of civil law with the moral law is in continuity with the whole tradition of the Church. This is clear from the teaching of Pope John XXIII, "Authority is a postulate of the moral order and derives from God. Consequently, laws and decrees enacted in contravention of the moral order, and hence of the divine will, can have no binding force in conscience...; indeed, the passing of such laws undermines the very nature of authority and results in shameful abuse".

This is the clear teaching of Saint Thomas Aquinas, who writes that "human law is law inasmuch as it is in conformity with right reason and thus derives from the eternal law. But when a law is contrary to reason, it is called an unjust law; but in this case it ceases to be a law and becomes instead an act of violence". And again: "Every law made by man can be called a law insofar as it derives from the natural law. But if it is somehow opposed to the natural law, then it is not really a law but rather a corruption of the law".

Cardinal Wuerl has obviously succumbed to the diabolical disorientation of our time.

Ignore him.

I am already ignoring this so-called "bishop" who allows pro-abortion politicians to communion, and suspends priests who actually stand for Catholic doctrine and refuse communion to unrepentant sinners. Another Vatican II bullshi#er reed swaying in the wind.

He has embarrassed himself. He can no longer be taken seriously by anyone even remotely Catholic. Good advice: Ignore the craziness.

Slavery and segregation were also sanctioned by "the law of the land," Your Eminence.

They've been complying with the abortion and contraception laws (not to mention euthanasia medicare and medicaid guidelines) for years, so why not the sodomy law? They will still be promoting the 'sanctity' of marriage as they have been promoting the 'sanctity' of life (even as they promote or refer or teach or provide internships at planned parenthood etc. and distribute contraception and abortion for CRS or to fight AIDS etc. All are welcome and anything goes in the Church of Parasites.

You need to learn of the spectrum of Wuerl's corruption. His image is a fabricated falsehood. Online is hard copy, aka Jpeg evidence, to support the allegations against Wuerl. He was heralded as a model of zero tolerance with a clean sex abuse handling record. But, the truth is that, even toward the end of his first year as bishop of Pittsburgh, he was caught performing a triple cover-up which resulted in the criminal indictments of three Pittsburgh diocesan priests.

The first DA to file charges against Wuerl's priests announced to the press that Wuerl and his staff was not providing the needed cooperation. Meanwhile, Wuerl put a notorious sex offender named John Hoehl back into ministry during his first year as Pittsburgh's Roman Catholic bishop. This means that Wuerl was covering-up four priests at the same time. After the indictment of the first of three priests, only then did Wuerl remvoe Hoehl.

Plus, there is the matter of Wuerl's former personal secretary and the retaliations that Wuerl ratified by means of deliberate indifference towards those targeted in the retaliations. Included is the game that Wuerl played with a Fr. Edward Huff who ended up getting criminally indicted. There's more.
